Enhanced Version of Custom Post Type UI Plugin (v0.7)

Here’s an enhanced version of Brad Williams’ excellent Custom Post Type UI plugin for WordPress.

New Features:

  • Admin Menu Icons – Adds ability to set admin menu icons for post types via the ‘menu_icon’ field.
  • Rewrite With Front – Adds ability to set the rewrite ‘with_front’ option for both post types and taxonomies.

Aside from the actual plugin, which you can read about on Brad’s blog, I was inspired by a comment made by Rofflox on the WordPress.org support forums.

Just Released: Northern Pine Longboards v2.0

Last night I flipped the big heavy DNS switches and eagerly watched as the new Northern Pine Longboards site sprung to life amidst a flurry of sparks, lightning, and organ music.

End-User Features:

  • Blog – The company definitely outgrew using Facebook alone for syndication awhile ago and what better solutions than a blog. The goal is role reversal. I don’t want the website to direct traffic to the Facebook page; I want the Facebook page to direct traffic to the website. In addition, using a blog for primary syndication makes collaboration with other businesses and people a lot easier. Read More »

Sneak Peak: Northern Pine Longboards v2.0

Here’s a quick glimpse of the visual style I’m using for the new Northern Pine Longboards site. It’s built on Thematic, and uses custom post types for their products. Back from the dead.

Well folks, I bet you thought I was dead—I’m not.

I’ve revived my site and am starting fresh. Hold your breath.

Things to come:

  • My portfolio: websites, print designs, technical documents, code…
  • A code snippet library.
  • A unique theme. I’ve been spending ALL my time working on other peoples’ sites (e.g. 1, 2, 3) that I really never got around to properly styling my own… not ironic, just sad.
  • A detailed log of my bowel movements.
  • Opinions that reek of ignorance and a misguided sense of entitlement.
  • Some photos of my cat.
